A Four-Season Family Landscape

Signe Garneau famille 2

In 1987, Fortunat and Solange Garneau purchased a small business—unaware that, 35 years later, Signé Garneau would grow to 120 employees, include 8 Garneau family members, and be co-owned by their two sons, Patrick and Sébastien. By age 10, Patrick was already spending his summers landscaping. To turn his passion into a profession, he studied landscape design at ITA, where he met his partner Annie. After completing his studies in 1995, he decided to build a garden center to expand the company’s service offering.

Today, Signé Garneau operates year-round, offering a wide range of services including landscape design, a garden center (with a florist, nursery, and bulk materials center), landscape maintenance, snow removal, and a branch in Trois-Rivières. In winter, both the Victoriaville garden center and the Trois-Rivières location are transformed into magical Christmas boutiques that attract visitors from near and far. Customers can even hire in-house designers to create custom holiday décor—indoors and outdoors. And there’s no need to worry about storage: Signé Garneau provides on-site containers for storing decorations until next season.

Eye-Catching Designs

Signé Garneau has been a certified Maître Paysagiste for over 20 years. For General Manager Patrick Garneau: “It’s a point of pride to be part of this elite group. It’s a step above, because Maître Paysagiste goes further in delivering on the client promise. It unites the team around high quality standards and sets the tone for everything we do.”

The company specializes in high-end turnkey landscape projects, primarily serving Victoriaville, Drummondville, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, and Québec. Their distinctive designs and flawless execution set them apart, offering unique outdoor environments that stand out. In the boutiques, every detail—from sofas to chairs to umbrellas—is curated to reflect a consistent artistic vision aligned with current trends.

Signé Garneau has received numerous awards from the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie des Bois-Francs et de l'Érable (CCIBFE) over the years, including:

  • Retail Business of the Year (2000)
  • Business Personality of the Year (2007)
  • Human Resources Award (2014)
  • Builder Award (2022)

They have also won more than 35 awards from the Association des paysagistes professionnels du Québec (APPQ) since their founding.

Guided by Positive Mantras

The Signé Garneau team follows four guiding mantras that shape their daily work:

  • "Born Hardworking" – A reminder that everyone is driven to excel and push limits.
  • "Determined to Impress You" – Encouraging fresh ideas both in-store and on job sites.
  • "Joy at Work" – Promoting a fun and dynamic atmosphere where laughter is part of daily life.
  • "A Place for Everyone, Stronger Together" – Reinforcing that teamwork, inclusivity, humility, and gratitude make the company stronger.

Plans for the Future

Last year, Signé Garneau began a major renovation project. Within the next 2–3 years, all floor surfaces will be updated and expanded. At the head office, staff already enjoy a new lounge and outdoor terrace. All exterior spaces will be redesigned with a focus on sustainability. Greenhouses will be equipped with automated climate controls, a rainwater harvesting system will be installed, and shading solutions will reduce heat islands. Electric vehicle charging stations will be added for employees, clients, and company vehicles.

In short, there are so many services under one roof that the general manager likes to say, “When the landscaping project is finished, it’s only the beginning.” And with the next generation already involved in the business, the story of Signé Garneau is just getting started.
