Andryves: Nearly 40 Years of Optimizing Outdoor Spaces

Paysagiste Andryves is the fusion of founders André Fournier and Yves Charest’s first names. The duo launched their landscaping business 37 years ago, after working for several years as designers and salespeople. At the time, shrubs and conifers were all the rage. Today, perennials—with their vibrant colors and foliage variety—have taken center stage.

Maximizing and Enhancing Every Inch
Certified Maître Paysagiste since day one, the company is known for its creative designs and ability to transform small spaces. Operating mainly in Lanaudière and the North Shore of Montreal, Paysagiste Andryves typically works with lots between 6,000 and 12,000 square feet. These limited spaces require ingenuity and precision. Every zone—cooking, lounging, resting, swimming—is carefully planned to make the most of every square foot.
That said, the team also enjoys letting their creativity run wild on larger lots, delivering landscapes that reflect the personality and expectations of their clients.

A Personal Touch from Start to Finish
To design spaces that truly reflect each client, the company’s owners take a hands-on approach. They get to know their clients—their passions, tastes, and aspirations—and remain involved before, during, and after the project. The company also offers landscape maintenance, which gives clients peace of mind knowing their outdoor space will remain exceptional year after year. For the designers, it’s also a way to observe how the project evolves and adjust as needed.
47 Awards in 37 Years
Since 1986, Paysagiste Andryves has completed over 2,000 landscaping projects and earned 47 awards from the APPQ. The company was even honored with the prestigious Milan Havelin Award. Ongoing training keeps the team up to date on the latest plants, trends, and materials—ensuring their projects are always fresh and innovative.

As a founding ambassador of the Maître Paysagiste certification, Yves Charest firmly believes in its value:
“The certification still lives up to its name—we’ve truly mastered our craft. It reassures clients, and since there are only 22 certified companies across Quebec, it also signifies that we deliver top-tier designs, service, and two-year guarantees on everything. We’re held to high standards, including extra rules beyond those of the APPQ.”

Enduring Inspiration
Yves Charest draws inspiration from his travels in Asia, Central America, and Europe—where landscaping plays a prominent role, particularly in luxury hotels. While the flowers found abroad don’t always thrive in Quebec, these trips influence how he envisions and designs his projects.

He also finds inspiration in his team of 17 employees, including two designers, with whom he fosters a strong sense of family. Despite having full confidence in his crew, Yves visits the job sites daily to support them and ensure that each client’s property is left clean and safe at the end of every day.

Sustainable by Design
At Andryves, sustainability starts with long-term relationships—with both clients and staff—but also includes the use of responsible materials. There’s a growing return to native plant species, a trend partly driven by new municipal regulations requiring that at least 50% of landscaping consist of vegetation. Smart landscaping, it turns out, is also part of smart urban development.

In short, Paysagiste Andryves has mastered the art of transforming small and medium-sized spaces into stunning, functional outdoor environments. After 37 years in business, nothing is left to chance when it comes to protecting their hard-earned reputation. Skill, creativity, and passion are always at the heart of their work.
